My name is Steve Jones and I am a professional investor and journalist. My articles on horse racing and professional betting have been published around the world and I am an editorial contributor with Horse Talk magazine.

This site aims to provide you with some useful and profitable techniques to help make your betting pay.

As a professional investor, my personal betting operation (which is available through my private service, The Daily Bargain) is strictly geared to investment rather than chasing short-term jackpots. The effect of my strategy can be seen from the fact that an initial one-off investment of £1,000 rose in value to £12,833 during the 35 months of operation to the end of December 2007. An investment of £10,000 rose to over £128,330. That's an overall growth figure of 1,183%, which would have been impossible to secure with any conventional financial package. Importantly, whilst achieving this level of performance I have stayed within the lower categories of financial risk. I don't risk more than 2% of my capital on any one venture.

There are two main factors which determine the bets I make: the basic logic behind my horse racing selection process is that a horse performs at its best when it has the conditions that it likes. Just as important is the highlighting of potential value in my bets.
